Re: painting old boat trailer with rattle can paint? i do own a compressor and a detail spray gun. but the clean up time and the mess i make are more work than just throwing away the old roller. guess i am getting lazy, or maybe just wanting to be done with the paint so i can recover the bunks.. Paint products. if the boat trailer has been painted before, the be sure to sand to remove and loose paint and feather the edges. if there is any rust, use a wire brush and treat with corroseal rust converting primer.. I have a boat trailer and a double jet ski trailer that need painting. i'm tempted to use a brush rather than getting a spray rig? anyone had success using a brush to paint a trailer?.
